James Horcasitas has been announcing rodeos since 2000. He has traveled all over the United States from Alaska to New Jersey entertaining crowds and sharing his passion and love of rodeo that stems from his days as a competitor. Which started in his early childhood and he chased those dreams into adulthood. He was accepted into the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association as an Announcer in 2008 and feels he has been very blessed in all he has been able to experience in rodeo.
Although raised in a family of Team Ropers, James eventually found his way to Bull Riding after High School and he traveled and competed quite extensively until a few severe injuries sidelined him and had him looking for another career in rodeo. In the summer of 2000, James was at a rodeo to be the Bull Fighter/Clown and the Announcer did not show up. The Stock Contractor approached James and asked him to fill in for the night and ever since that crazy hot night, James has seen his Announcing career grow each and every year. The rodeo trail has given him the opportunity to travel to some of the most historic events from Prescott Frontier Days-The World’s Oldest Rodeo, to right here at Rodeo De Santa Fe. James has a very unique style of announcing and you can hear and feel his love for rodeo as he announces and performs in front of some of the greatest rodeo fans in the world.
James is born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico but was also raised at his family’s ranch in Torreon, NM every summer throughout his childhood. He still lives in his hometown with his wife Robyn, his son Jackson and daughter Ella Riley. After twenty years of proud service and retiring as a Professional Fire Fighter for the City of Las Cruces, James focused his attention to Announcing full time. He is currently the President of the Turquoise Circuit Finals Rodeo, the Vice-President of his son’s High School Football Booster Club and an avid volunteer in his community. When James is not on the rodeo trail he enjoys running, weight lifting, and boxing.
“Thank you all for being here. I sincerely hope you all enjoy the show and appreciate the excitement you are a huge part of!”
