Rodeo de Santa Fe and Santa Fe County have combined their contest. We are currently accepting applications for the next years Rodeo Royalty contest held in late May or Early June. Queen contestants must be between the ages of 18 and 25. Princess contestants must be between age 13 and 17. All candidates must live within a 50 mile radius of Santa Fe County. The contest will be held at the Santa Fe County Large Annex and Rodeo de Santa Fe’s Arena. The contestants will be judged on knowledge of PRCA rodeo, animal welfare, horsemanship, outgoingness, and public speaking. The Queen will receive a $500 scholarship or a custom saddle, custom made crown, buckle and sash. The Princess receives a custom made crown, buckle and sash. The incoming royalty will be crowned during the rodeo’s Saturday evening performance. The ladies will be representing Rodeo de Santa Fe and the Santa Fe County Fair at various functions during the year. The incoming Queen will have the opportunity to compete for State Fair Queen in Albuquerque in Sept., Miss Turquoise Circuit in Las Cruces in Oct. the same year as her reign, and or Miss Rodeo New Mexico in Clovis in June the following year. Meet Our 2015, 66th Anniversary Rodeo Queen,
Sara Czmyrid is the 23-year old daughter of Chris and Joy Czmyrid. She recently graduated New Mexico State University with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. She plans to use her degree to work in the livestock industry helping to develop technology that will help America’s livestock producer’s continue to grow healthy, strong animals. Sara loves spending her time, training and riding her 15-year old quarter horse, Paco, whom she found at the Santa Fe Horse Shelter when he was 10. It has been a bumpy ride but Paco has made her the horsewoman she is today. Sara would like to thank The Northern New Mexico Horsemen’s Association for their continued support of her and the Santa Fe Rodeo and Fair Royalty, as well as The Feed Bin of Santa Fe and Eldorado Country Pet for their support. She is honored to be this years Queen and can’t wait to create new rodeo fans and spread her love of the western lifestyle with all she meets.
Meet Our 2015, 66th Anniversary Rodeo Princess,
Emma Cameron is your 2015 Rodeo de Santa Fe Princess. She is 15 years old, and a sophomore at the MASTERS program high school. She maintains a 4.0 GPA, and is on the Deans List at the Santa Fe Community College. After high school, Emma plans to double major in chemical and agriculture engineering. In her free time, Emma enjoys, volunteering in local schools, training and riding barrel racing horses, horse judging and showing animals in 4H. She has been competing in rodeo and 4H since she was 4 years old. She is a member of the National High Rodeo Association, and president of the 4 Seasons 4H club where she shows chickens, pigs, dairy goats and horses. Emma is honored to have the opportunity to represent the sport of rodeo and the values that it has taught her. She would like to thank her parents, Karen and Andy Cameron, her brother Jack, and her mentors Beth Gray, Jim Butler and Julie Wilson for without their continued support, she would not have been blessed with this incredible opportunity.
